I agree with the first poster that the app is clunky. It looks like just an advert until you find how to register and log in. Even when in the app if you aren't careful you can find yourself logged out and have to start again. There should be a 'Confirm log out?' prompt. I hope they are going to update the app very soon.

The fixing screw holes in the body are really too close to the flap hole. When cutting the big clearance hole in a door or wall you have to be careful to cut it for a very close fit. If you make the cutout any larger, the fixing screw holes may split into the cutout.

It's unfortunate that the control hub needs a wired network connection. It would be much more flexible if it had WiFi.

Having said all that, the remote control system does work as advertised and I have no complaints about its operation.

Edit after several months' use:
It's worth mentioning that the app based remote monitor and control facilities are dependent upon the remote server operated by the manufacturer. If this goes down for any reason you lose those facilities. So far that server has gone down for a period about once a month. I hope it is going to be made more reliable.

Ordered this product as we needed to replace an old cat flap and wanted one that would work with a microchip. After looking at the reviews on here and searching through the various ones on offer we plumped for this one. It arrived the next day along with the hub and was easy to fit and set up. It allows you to set a curfew which you can change from your phone or tablet and lock the door even when you’re out. Yes, it does make a clunking sound when the latch opens but our cat doesn’t mind it - especially when the curfew has ended. We love the fact that we can keep an eye on his movements and know when he’s in for the evening even when we’re not. At first we had issues with the cat flap reading our cat’s chip and after trying various solutions contacted Sureflap. I received a reply within the hour asking me to try different things and in the end they sent me a range testing kit. This is simply some card with a ruler printed on it and a chip with your cats details inside. We filled in the measurements and emailed the results across and within a day had a phone call from them to help resolve the issue. They sent a fix through the ether to expand the range and we haven’t had a problem since. Their customer service is second to none. They persevered until the product was working as designed and acted very promptly in helping to resolve the issues. A lot of other companies could take a leaf out of their books! Would definitely recommend this product to others

Given the cost, I am most disappointing. The app is sluggish and basic I have three cats and appear not to set individual times. It also appears to be not trustful in that I set id to lock all cats in just to see my cat exit. I will purchase a simpler more reliable door. considering the price I would be very critical to purchase this make in the future.

This is utterly utterly brilliant. We have six cats and this has made keeping track of them so much easier, especially as two of ours like to wander a bit so it’s good to know if they’ve been home.

The app is excellent and really easy to navigate, set up of hub (sold separately) was really simple. We have a metal lined back door which did impact both the earlier version and more so this one, but we simply cut out a larger section of metal.

All in all I adore this product. All I need now is a microchip style injectible gps tracker linked to the same app and I’m getting a load more sleep 😻😻😻😻😻😻

A good product. We fitted in a wall and needed lots of extenders but it went in fine. Now we know whether the blighter is in or out and can keep him in at night. It kept a nasty feral Tom out as well. We love the little miaow from our phones as he comes and goes.

along with the Hub. Is there any update on the app? Or is those normal?
- run the app and you have no indication the state of the flap
- sending a command take at least 10 to 15 seconds for the flap to react
- random status display after set the flap to be locked or not
- cat needs his head in tunnel for 10 seconds to be detected IF detected at all

a few other "minors" bugs...

I’m really impressed with this product. It’s well made and it’s easy to fit. My neighbour fitted it for me and was so impressed with its function and quality he is going to purchase one.

I also bought the hub. I can now keep check of my cats’ movements, when they enter and exit the house. I can lock them in via my phone.

I can thoroughly recommend this item.

Easy to fit/program and works well with the connect hub. My cat has started using this pretty quickly and it’s nice to get notifications about whether she’s in or out.

Great product, so easy to setup. Generously sized for a cat so no trouble getting in and out of it. Features are great. Setup via the app and hub an absolute breeze.

Just brilliant. I can stalk my cat all day long and see just how lazy he really is. But we love him all the same.
